ElderCare provides both at-home and on-site services to the elderly, including those with memory loss issues. They serve a wide--and growing--geographic area from a headquarters and other facilities that would no longer be central to their service territories.

Van Mell Associates created a complete strategic facility plan, which included a detailed study of where staff lived and how they were distributed for their labor-intensive and highly personal services.

Results

Among other elements of the overall plan was a consolidated, upgraded, and centralized new headquarters with the kinds of spaces that would allow this busy staff to interact with each other as well as provide services to a geographically disperse clientele. An interesting element of this analysis was a transportation optimization study of their van service.
